Swap Around Day
This years swap around day was another success! The children visited different classrooms and took part in lots of festive crafts! We even had a Christmas Disco! Take a look at our dancing pictures below!
We have all been really looking forward to Christmas and have been doing lots of Christmas activities around the school. Today we had Christmas Dinner! It was delicious and some of us even ate our brussels!

Here are some photos of the children in their costumes.
The Owl and the Pussy Cat
The children have been working really hard on their phonics since starting school in September. We have started to learn our phase 3 sounds and after Christmas we will begin to learn our digraphs. Please practise sounding out lots at home and remember to read with your child too. Below are some links to useful websites to help you with phonics and some games you can play with your child. Thank you!
Teach Your Monster to Read is a great app to download to your device too!
Teddy Bears Picnic
One of our Pledges for this year was to have a 'Teddy Bears Picnic'! Unfortunately the weather hasn't been on our side this week and we had to have our Picnic inside, we still had lots of fun, and lots of food!
I hope you all had a lovely half term! This term our topic is called 'Spring to Life!'. We will be learning all about Spring and looking at lots of books about farms, we have a visit to the farm later on in the term! We are focussing on using adjectives in our writing this term and extending our sentences to make them more exciting! Please keep practising phonics at home and if you want to extend this, writing sentences with your children! Please come and see me for more information on how you can help your child at home!
